Spartacus and Varro - 10.20.13

Well I honestly couldn't remember the last time we had been to Ryan's place so it was nice to take the girls out there that weekend and finally show them the new Mini-horses. They are so cute. We love this place so much.
 There they are!
I think Spartacus is the brown one, but after he was viciously attacked by Ryan's dogs, and the white one became more dominant, I almost wonder if we should have switched their names. Oh well. Sidenote, Spartacus totally survived! His ear got ripped but he was able to get through it like a trooper.

Alexa's Birthday - 10.19.13

Alexa is a friend of Amyra's whom we have always seen around, but only recently became friends with. I remember I would always see Alexa's family out and about in Spanish Springs, whether it was at Yogurt Beach or at the park near our house. And it's funny, because I was pretty sure I recognized Alexa's parents from high school (Her mom Lauren and I were on the Tennis team together) but we finally connected and began chatting when we realized how well Alexa and Amyra got along in gymnastics. Fast forward a few months, and we were invited to Alexa's 6th birthday at Pump it Up. It was first birthday there and the kids had a blast! Even Teefy got in on the action. I especially loved the card Amyra wrote to Alexa. So cute.

The Girls Get Their Ears Pierced - 10.11.13

So it started about a week prior that Mya kept repeatedly asking to get her ears pierced. Who was I to deny her? She was so brave! We went to the mall while Amyra was at school, and she was lucky because she was able to get them both done at the same time. And here is the best part. She didn't cry! Mya was only 4.5 and she didn't cry. This girl I tell you. She is so fearless!
As soon as it was done, she just started sucking on her lollipop and that was it.
As for Amyra, she has always been a bit nervous about getting her ears pierced, but once she saw that Mya had them, she agreed to do it herself. I was a little worried because I remember how she reacted when getting shots (she usually punches the doctor) and so I wasn't sure how she would do, especially since she wasn't able to have them both done at the same time. Ultimately, however she did awesome. They pierced the first ear and she looked like she was about to panic and cry, but I calmed her down, and then they pierced the second one, and voila, both of my girls now wear earrings. Pretty cool!

Soccer and Crafts - 10.5.13

This was a fun Saturday, starting with a soccer game for Amyra and ending with a random craft at Michaels. I had to go in and pick up something, and when I saw the craft, I couldn't resist. So glad the girls got to participate. I like the idea of decorating a pumpkin that can be used over and over again. I would really love to start the Easter Egg version of that! Unless they exist already.
 Craft at Michaels.

Family Pics with Donna - 10.4.13

So for Teefy's last session with Donna, I decided to have family pics taken (and to use it as our Christmas Pic this year). So glad I did it that way and I will probably continue to do this every year. Totally beats trying to get a Christmas picture on our own. I did kind of regret not doing a "cake smash" instead for Teef, but since I didn't do them for the girls, I got over it pretty quickly. And you'll notice, the missing tooth didn't affect the pictures one bit. Love my sweet family.
Check out Teef's dimple on his left cheek. Mario Lopez, watch out!
I was totally tickling him in this picture.
There's that dimple again.
I think this was the official Christmas picture. Chosen because obviously, I look the best here.
I kid of wish I had chosen this one. Oh well. Maybe I will have a blooper picture every year too.

Amyra Loses Her First Tooth - 10.4.13

Well Amyra lost her first tooth and she was about 5 1/2 years old when it happened. It was nice because it wasn't this big "to do" and there was no tying strings to doors etc. She was just sitting down watching TV and pulled it out. I'm glad she was so brave about it. The tooth fairy came and brought her $5! What a lucky girl. She reminded Amyra to keep brushing her teeth and to also be nice to her sister. The timing of this couldn't have been more perfect however. Of course it was the day of our family pictures with Donna. Thankfully she looks beautiful no matter what.

Teefy Turns One! - 9.28.13

So as I finally write this blog entry, Teef is in fact almost 1 year and 8 months old, thus meaning I am a whopping 8 months behind on my blog. Why do I even try?
Anyway, Lateef often says "The champ is here!" when referring to Teef, and I seriously love it. He really is a CHAMP. He's also a handful and I really really need to childproof my house for him. I never had to childproof the house for the girls, but that is not the case with this kid.
In the last month, he managed to actually climb up the bunk bed ladder! Consequently, that ladder now resides under the bunk bed and the girls have become excellent climbers.
Regardless, I love this kid so much and look forward to many many more birthdays.
